The project addresses the Urbanistic planning programme action “Las Cabezadas”, in Aranjuez, which includes the necessary sports facilities to consider to Aranjuez secondary Olympic venue in terms of rowing and canoeing with a view to the holding of the Madrid 2012 Olympic games.

The preparation of the proposal has had special significance, in addition to the design, on the protection of the environment through the conservation and improvement of the vegetation along the banks of the Tagus River, as well as the repopulation of the area´s native species.

The most notable characteristic of the proposal is to convert this future urban area of Aranjuez into a navigable city, through channels connected with the rowing channel, traveling around the performance area, as a navigable channel-boulevard, with tree-lined sidewalks on both sides, making the streets in pleasant recreational sites.
